«INVOLVING PATIENTS IN THE PROCESS OF ENSURING SAFE MEDICAL CARE» INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC and PRACTICAL CONFERENCE dedicated to the WORLD PATIENT SAFETY DAY 2023

20 September IV International scientific conference «Involving patients in the process of ensuring safe medical care» was held at the Russian Medical Academy of Continuous Professional Education.

The conference boasts an impressive turnout with more than 700 participants, from Vladivostok to Kaliningrad and Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, South Ossetia.

According to the World Patient Safety Day 2023 the main tasks of the conference were raise awareness of the need for active engagement of patients and their families to improve patient safety. Engage health care leaders, health and care workers, patients’organizations, civil society, and other stakeholders in efforts to engage patients and families in the policies and practices for safe health care. Empower patients and families to be actively involved in their own health care.

The scientific organizers of the conference: Russian Medical Academy of Continuous Professional Education, jointly with the Ministry of Healthcare of the Russian Federation, the Federal Service for Supervision in the Field of Healthcare, the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Association of Clinical Pharmacologists, the National Pharmaceutical Chamber.

Moderators of the conference: Rector, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, MD, Professor Dmitriy Sychev, Vice-Rector for Medical Work and International Cooperation, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, MD, Professor Irina Poddubnaya, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation, MD Karin Mirzaev.

Opening remarks: Rector, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, MD, Professor Dmitriy Sychev, Russian Deputy Health Minister Sergey Glagolev, Chief of Federal Service for Surveillance in Healthcare, MD Alla Samoilova, Advisor to the Department for Cooperation in the Social Sphere of the Department of Humanitarian Cooperation, General Political and Social Problems of the CIS Executive Committee Elena Shamal.

  • Rehabilitation diagnosis, rehabilitation potential and patient safety.
  • Psychological preparation of the patient for treatment and rehabilitation
  • Necessary evil: evidence-based use of polypragmasia in psychopharmacotherapy of children's patients.
  • The role of nursing staff in ensuring patient safety.
